Erasmus in the spotlight

Budget cut in Eramus home countries grants

DSCF2239b
As Erasmus students also depend on their home countries grants to go abroad, many youngsters from countries where economical crisis is deeper cannot afford it anymore. That is the case of Andalucía, one Spanish region where Erasmus grants budget has being sharply cut off, as the regional newspaper Huelva24.com denounced today.

This newspaper affirms that not only the students that are now abroad are not going to receive part of the money they expected, but also some of the Erasmus students who already received their grants are being asked to refund some quantities to the Government.

Read the whole article here (Spanish).

And here, the answer from the Government to the students complains (Spanish).

What do you think? Are you suffering the same situation in your country? Is it fair that students have different rights depending on where they live? Do you agree with budget cuts in Education?
